Conservation efforts are conducted in the Ankara Orchard House. The conservation unit provides in house service.

This unit is responsible for the passive and when necessary, the active conservation of all visual and text-based documents such as papers, books, maps, and photographs that make up the collections owned by VEKAM.

In addition to its duties concerning archive collections, the unit is also responsible for ensuring the proper storage conditions for all works located in the Orchard House exhibition or in storage, for adjusting the humidity and temperature levels in extreme situations, and for undertaking the active conservation of other materials in emergencies.

Additionally, the unit is responsible for secondary tasks such as the protection of all pieces at VEKAM through the creation of suitable environments, packaging for transportation, transportation, displaying, storage under proper conditions, undertaking the preventive and active conservation requirements of the works received for temporary exhibition.
