Ankara: Streets and Citizens from the Ottoman Empire to the Turkish Republic

The exhibition of the photos from researcher Nezih Başgelen’s collection as well as from VEKAM’s archives, under the curatorship of Murat Akar, aims to draw attention through photos and post cards to the people of the capital in the midst of their daily life, living in Ankara, wandering around in its streets, posing for the photographer, trying to sell his wares, in contrast to the usual perspective to Ankara which focus on shots of the castle, urban development, and government buildings.
