Koç University Vehbi Koç Ankara Research Center (VEKAM) organizes symposia to introduce the various civilizations that lived in Anatolia and to support research conducted on this area under the heading “Cultural Encounters in Anatolia in the Medieval Period.” This work contains papers presented in the symposium “Cultural Encounters in Anatolia in the Medieval Period: Proceedings from the Symposium Italians in Anatolia during the 12th-15th Centuries” held on May 13^th, 2016 and will prove to be a useful resource for researchers working in the field.
