“Gordion’un Çobanları” took home the VEKAM’s Special Award at 33rd Ankara International Film Festival



To support urban research by enriching the audio-visual memory on Ankara and its surroundings,  a category specific to Ankara has been announced with a call titled Ankara is Waiting for its Story with the collaboration of VEKAM and the Ankara International Film Festival Committee. Kerime Senyücel (TRT , director/retired) and Prof. Dr. Billur Tekkök Karaöz (Bilkent University) took place at the selection committee of VEKAM’s special award.

The documentary, “Gordion’un Çobanları” based on the story of the shepherds and their flocks in the ancient city of Gordion, which dates back to the 1200s, it traces the similarity of agriculture and animal husbandry, which continues today from the Phrygians, with the past. Kadir Uluç, the director, announced as the winner of  VEKAM’s Special Award at the closing ceremony of the festival which was held on 11 November 2022. He announced that they will donate the award to LÖSEV.
