The calligraphic Levha’s in the Ankara Orchard House collection offer an intriguing variety of materials. Wood carving, wood cutting, bead-work, satin stitch, Suzeni, ink on paper, underglass work and weaving are amongst these techniques. This indicates how much “levha” was loved in the end of the 19th-cenutry and beginning of the 20th-century, by the household and practices by amateurs. Three Works of the contemporary calligraphist Hüseyin Kutlu are among the highlights of the collection.
