The role of museums in the process of creating a city brand, which Koç University VEKAM commenced supporting in 2022, is led by Assoc. Prof. Burcu Zeybek (Istanbul University) and Assoc. Prof. İlknur Doğu Öztürk (Doğuş University). The research project, titled ” The Role of Museums in Brand City Communication: The Case of Ankara,” aimed to determine the perception of museums as attractive elements within the scope of brand communication management of cities and to determine the role of museums in the communication process of brand cities. In 2023, a sharing movement was launched as part of the project, with the participation of private -public museums and museum visitors in Ankara, using the hashtag #AnkaraMuseums.

On May 24, 2024 between 11:00 am -12:30 pm , Prof. Dr. Pınar Eraslan Yayınoğlu (Istanbul University, retired academic member) will deliver a framework speech titled ” Brand City Communication from Traditional to Digital: Practices & Examples”  than the sharing movement initiated in 2023 and the findings of the project will be presented by Assoc. Prof. Burcu Zeybek and Assoc. Prof. İlknur Doğu Öztürk.
