The lecture by Inge Uytterhoeven will draw a general overview through the daily /private life of Sagalassos including various types of researches conducted in the field over the last decades. The private housing of Sagalassos will be evaluated within the broad context of developments in western Anatolia and eastern Mediterranean during Hellenistic, Roman and late Antiquity periods to understand and evaluate if the housings which are dating from different periods can be accepted as an indicator of the socioeconomic, political and ideological backgrounds of the residents of Sagalassos.
