The conference by H. Onur Bektas will explore Ankara’s ancient basins and water sources and will focus on the attempts to make ancient sources available as the main water source of Ankara in the Early Republican Period.

The second part of the talk will cover the rediscovery of the lesser known Kırkgöz catchment in 2021 in the light of historic documents and recent  on-site findings related to the forgotten water source and will discuss the regainment of historically important ground water source to the city.

The conference will be held in Turkish and online. Registration is required.
