DESCRIPTION: Somat peşkiri is a towel (peşkir) that was used to lay around the tables (somat) in dervish lodges. Peşkir (towel) is made of flax and has a plain weave construction. The cream textile was patterned with yellow, horizontal strips as it was woven. There is a floral pattern on each side of the towel composed of flowers and stems. The pattern was applied four times on each side through a wavy line, twice placed upwards, twice placed downwards. There are fringes on short sides of the towel.
