Participation in the workshop is free of charge.

Participants who attend the workshop for 2 days will receive a digital certificate of participation.

Participants who will attend the workshop from out of town are responsible for their own accommodation, transportation, etc. expenses. VEKAM cannot provide any support or advice on these issues.

NOTES FOR WORKSHOPS

All registered participants are invited to attend the seminars held as part of the workshop. However, attendance at the afternoon workshops is not obligatory.

A separate registration link for the Workshops will be sent to participants whose Workshop registration has been confirmed.

Afternoon workshops are limited to 15 people. There will be 5 workshops in total for 2 days.

In case of over registration in the workshops, priority will be given to professionals who are active in the field. (Not all participants may be able to attend the workshops)

To ensure that as many participants as possible benefit from the workshops, each participant can only register for one workshop. Participants whose workshop registrations are confirmed will receive a confirmation email. Workshop registrations of participants who register for more than one workshop will not be taken into consideration.

Participants are kindly requested to bring their own electronic devices (laptop, tablet, phone, etc.) to use in the workshops they register for. VEKAM cannot provide electronic devices for the workshops.

Since 2019, Koç University VEKAM has been organizing a series of workshops titled the Cultural Heritage Studies Workshop for Children (0-18). These workshops are led by Koç University faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Maner and museum educator-architect Özlem Dengiz Uğur. The objective of these workshops is to provide support for professionals engaged in cultural heritage studies with children and sustainable cultural heritage education.

The workshops, which are organized on an annual basis and address a range of comprehensive themes, are designed to facilitate the work of professionals engaged in the field of cultural heritage in Turkey. They aim to provide an interactive environment where professionals from Turkey and abroad can convene and exchange experiences and ideas. Additionally, the workshops serve to establish an academic platform that supports cultural heritage studies and to produce guide resources for those working in this field through workshop publications.

The workshop is comprised of two parts. The first part, features invited speakers from Turkey and abroad. These speakers present exemplary projects/studies/programs that have demonstrated sustainability over time. This sharing of best practices is intended for professionals in the field. The second part features, model workshops which are related with the topics mentioned in lectures . These workshops exemplify methods that professionals can utilize in their work.

In 2024, the fifth Cultural Heritage Studies Workshop for Children (0-18) will be held on November 7-8, 2024 at VEKAM Ankara Orchard House. The workshop will focus on digital practices in the field of cultural heritage.

Due to the limited capacity of the workshop, priority will be given to professionals currently engaged in the field of cultural heritage.
